It's straight, raw and real as usual. Join us as we have a heartfelt discussion with South Africa's 100m hurdles record holder, former African champion and World Cup gold medalist, Rikenette Steenkamp.
It's a moving story of the exceptional sacrifices of track and field athletes, who live extreme lifestyles with minimal compensation for many years to earn a shot at becoming an Olympian. For some, this dream is realised; yet for others, despite being at the top of their game and breaking records, miss the opportunity due to factors beyond their control.
This is the story of an athlete who missed out on two Olympics and the pain, lament and sacrifice of someone who had invested so much only to miss out on reaching the pinnacle of her sport. It's a powerful story of learning to confront pain in an emotionally and spiritually healthy way.
It's a faith building conversation. It's certain to offer hope, not just to sports people, but anyone navigating pain and disappointment in life.
Don't miss this podcast as Rikenette shares her moments of great success, vulnerability and finding God's presence through it all

Loved this. The tension between competing and letting go. It’s so good when people share their stories like this in such an honest way. It brings the idea to life. Riki’s vulnerability was such a gift and I’m guessing took some bravery to do. The idea of letting go is something front and centre for me. What it looks like to do your absolute best but be detached from the outcome is something I’m constantly coming back to in all sorts of areas of my life.
